DRI Foundation Supports Californians Rebuilding from Wildfires

Throughout Jan. 2025, California’s Los Angeles and San Diego counties were devastated by a series of destructive wildfires that resulted in at least 29 deaths, as well as the destruction of more than 18,000 homes and buildings, forcing the evacuation of more than 200,000 residents. As the region works to rebuild, the DRI Foundation has provided financial support for two organizations giving on-the-ground assistance to those who need it most.

Friends in Deed, based in Pasadena, has been serving homeless and at-risk communities since its founding 1894. Its efforts include a food pantry, women’s shelter, bad weather shelters, rental assistance, and other programs designed to curb chronic homelessness for area residents.

Also located in Pasadena, Union Station Homeless Services coordinates with more than 130 street outreach, intake and assessment, connection to services, care coordination, housing navigation, housing placement, and retention assistance for its clients. In the aftermath of the wildfires, it has also set up dedicated assistance services for those affected.

The DRI Foundation is proud to provide support and vital financial assistance to such nonprofit organizations to aid their missions in communities where they are needed. Click here to learn more about how you can help.
