UK Mental Health Network Receives Foundation Assistance for Veterans Work

The DRI Foundation, with asssistance from DRI United Kingdom, has made a donation to Mind, the UK’s national center for mental health, to support its valuable work with veterans.

Operating for more than 70 years, Mind provides mental health information and support in the form of its Infoline, offering confidential help to all callers, as well as its Legal Line, providing information on mental health related law for the public, service users, family members, mental health professionals and advocates. The network of 125 local affiliates across England and Wales offer specialized support based on the needs of their communities.

In recent years, it has also been a source of change in UK laws and local community response to:

  • Reduce the use of force against mental health patients
  • Create easier access to welfare benefits,
  • Secure safe locations for those in crisis under 18 years of age, and
  • Provide specific public health funding for community budgets.

During the 2020 course calendar, DRI United Kingdom allocated 15% of all course proceeds to support this organization as one of the nonprofits recognized for its coronavirus response and recovery efforts.

The DRI Foundation is proud to support such nonprofit organizations building resilience in their communities. 100 percent of the money collected will go to small, local organizations that are an integral part of their communities. Click here to donate.
