MedAcross Receives DRI Foundation Support to Aid Quake-Stricken Myanmar

On Mar. 28, a catastrophic 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, with the epicenter close to its second-largest population center, Mandalay, and effects felt in neighboring Thailand, Vietnam, and China. With critical aid needed for survivors and emergency relief efforts, the DRI Foundation has provided a donation to MedAcross.

A Turin-based nonprofit organization founded in 2016 to provide humanitarian aid to populations without access to basic healthcare, MedAcross has been sending free healthcare support around the world. Because of the limited public care available in the region, MedAcross was already stationed in Myanmar with mobile clinics, rural maternity aid, and other much-needed resources.

Its work is now focused on emergency medical services for the thousands of injured and displaced residents. “In Myanmar, there are injured children, mothers holding their little ones with nowhere to turn, and elderly people left alone among the rubble,” the organization writes. “The suffering is immense, but we cannot look away. Every contribution matters. Even a small donation can provide essential medical care to those who have lost everything. MedAcross won’t stop, but we need you.”

The DRI Foundation is proud to provide support and vital financial assistance to such nonprofit organizations to aid their missions in communities where they are needed. Click here to learn more about how you can help.
