For many, the rebuilding after a disaster is just as significant as the immediate disaster itself. The Disaster Recovery International Foundation was established out of a need to address that concern. Our objective is to help organizations and communities impacted by disaster, by working with local organizations to get relief to those who need it. Grant packages range from $1000 to $2500.
Criteria
The Foundation’s Board evaluates requests based on the following criteria:
- Initiated by a 501 (c)(3) organization with an EIN number
- IRS Pub 78 Verified within last year
- IRS recognized as eligible to receive tax-deductible donations
- Has been in existence for >2 years
- Form 990 or 990 EZ Available
- Listed in GuideStar and/or Charity Navigator
International charities are invited to apply and will be reviewed based on separate guidelines.
