Founded in 2015, this all-volunteer nonprofit was formed to help first responders in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania during and in the aftermath of emergencies. It has since expanded and now provides certified, trained dog/handle teams for animal-assisted therapy and crisis response nationwide. All services are offered free of charge.

In a letter thanking the Foundation, canine response team Founder Janice Campbell referenced a recent assignment in Uvalde, TX, writing:

“DRI Foundation was there to help sponsor Tri-State Canine Response Team when we lent a helping paw at the one-year remembrance of the tragic Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, TX. The school community reached out to see if we could come back to support the children and families who 12 months later have not yet begun to heal after that tragic day. Our crisis counselors and canines were honored and humbled to have been asked to support. We sat with families in Uvalde Memorial Hospital, attended children’s funerals where children told horrible stories to our dogs of what had happened inside the classrooms, and grieved alongside of mothers and fathers as they tried to make sense of the loss of their child standing in front of the cross memorial. We would not be able to support our communities without organizations like DRI Foundation.”

The DRI Foundation is proud to provide support and vital financial assistance to such nonprofit organizations in order to aid their missions in communities where they are needed.
