Michele’s Volunteer View: What to Know About Volunteer Day at DRI2020

Hello, volunteers! We’re looking forward to your participation at our half day activities on Saturday, February 29, 2020.  This post tells you everything you’ll need to know about  participating in Volunteer Day at DRI2020 with the DRI Foundation.  

This year’s DRI Foundation Volunteer Day is proudly supported by a generous donation by Fusion Risk Management.

Venue Details

America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia:
2651 Causton Bluff Rd., Savannah, GA 31404

Established in 1981 in Savannah Georgia, America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is a locally inspired, volunteer driven nonprofit food bank and community partnering organization. Second Harvest serves as the food safety net for tens of thousands of children, senior citizens, low-income families, and people with disabilities who are at risk for hunger throughout Southern Georgia.  Tasks may include food sorting and packing for the Mobile Food Pantry.

Time

Volunteer Check-In 

6:45am to 7:40am in Riverscape (Westin)

  • A light breakfast will be provided – Breakfast is sponsored by Michele Turner and M2 Consulting
  • This is where you will pick up your t-shirts and any other items pertinent to the day

***Please let us know in advance if you will be providing your own transportation to Volunteer Day***

Lunch

Lunch will be provided by the DRI Foundation on-site at Volunteer Day.
***Please email me any food allergies as soon as possible so that we can make any necessary arrangements for you.

Dress Code

  • Closed Toe Shoes – No Sandals or Flip Flops
  • Casual, Comfortable Clothing
  • No Dangling Jewelry

Waiver

Prior to the start of the day, all Volunteers must sign a waiver with the DRI Foundation.

Please sign and return this waiver by email or fax (866-419-1595) at your earliest convenience.

Volunteer Reception: Giving Back…To Our Volunteers

We are extremely grateful to our compassionate and thoughtful volunteers for your service to those in need. In honor of the generous gift of your time, we’d like to give back…to you this time!

Please join us on Saturday, February 29, at the Midnight Sun Tent, from 6-8 PM for a reception in your honor. We will also be joined by supporters of our Veterans Outreach Program.

You will receive an admission ticket for the reception at Volunteer Day check-in. We hope to see you there.
