Michele’s Volunteer View: Volunteer Day at DRI2019

After months of planning, it’s hard to believe that DRI2019 and Volunteer Day is just 2 weeks away. We are very excited to bring together our Certified Professionals to Las Vegas to donate our time and resources to assist an amazing group. We are doing such an amazing job with this endeavor that Mayor Carolyn Goodman has proclaimed February 16, 2019 DRI Foundation Day in the City of Las Vegas. Now that is pretty exciting!

Veterans Village
Veterans Village is a transitional and permanent housing residence for United States Veterans.
Volunteers will be doing light construction and will primarily be responsible for painting veterans’ apartment units.

Information has already gone out to those who have registered but here is a lot of what you need to know about the day.

Is it too late? Can I still participate?
Absolutely! Volunteer Day is on Saturday, February 16,2019. Visit conference.drii.org to register or, if you have already registered for the conference and want to add Volunteer Day, you can modify your current registration to add it. If you have any questions regarding the process, always feel free to contact me.

Volunteer Check-in on February 16
Visit the Mezzanine Level at Planet Hollywood between 6:45am and 7:40am. This is where you will pick up your t-shirts and any other items pertinent to the day. A light breakfast sponsored by Michele Turner an M@, will be provided.

Prior to boarding the buses, we will gather for a group photo at 7:45am.

Buses will pick up Volunteers at 8:00am at the main entrance to the hotel. The bus queue is about 200 yards down from the main doors.

Volunteer Day Hours
Half Day is 8:30am to 12:00pm
Full Day is 8:30am to 4:00pm
Lunch will be provided on site for the group

Waiver
All Volunteers must sign a waiver with the DRI Foundation prior to the start of the day.

My call to action this month is two-fold:

1 – If you have not already registered for Volunteer Day, please do so. We still have some slots open and it is a very rewarding experience….not to mention a great deal of fun.

2 – Consider making a donation to the DRI Foundation and our mission. And if you work for a corporation, chances are they will match your donation to a specific charity. Even if you are not giving a large sum of money, don’t underestimate your power of giving, especially when it is multiplied with a matching gift. No donation is too small, and all donations make a huge impact for the Foundation in helping us to achieve our mission. You can donation online now at: https://drii.org/donation/

See you in Las Vegas!
