Women in BCM DRI2018

Breakout Forums for Women in BCM at DRI2018

“About 50% of the business continuity industry is made up of women. Why aren’t we in top roles?” – Mitzi Harlor, WBCM Panel Session

This year at DRI2018, women in the business continuity field was the subject of two events that received an overwhelming response, with nearly 100 attendees at each event.

The breakout session featured a panel discussion of the recent Women in BCM Committee white paper, live attendee polling, and shared experiences from women in the field. Held the previous evening, the WBCM cocktail reception offered lively discussion and networking focused on the WBCM Committee’s mission.

Reactions from the audience:

“This was a great panel. I really enjoyed their take on common struggles in the workplace and their knowledge. We had a number of discussions where everyone in the audience could relate. I really enjoyed the live polling. It really helped drive some of the discussions and even support some of the data.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed this session. The women were empowering, encouraging, and provided good information as well as potential to hear from workshop attendees. Highly recommended session.”

“Outstanding, honest, inspiring and real conversations! Many of us in this field need the solutions offered and the discussions of the REAL challenges that we explored in today’s session.”
