Michele’s Volunteer View: Volunteer Day 2017 Recap

2017 Volunteer DayOn February 25, 2017, the DRI Foundation was in Las Vegas for Volunteer Day at DRI2017, and to say that it was a huge success is an understatement.  We want to thank all of the volunteers who came out to support the foundation and donated their time and energy for two very worthy causes in the Las Vegas community.

Here are just a few highlights from the day…

  • February 25, 2017 was proclaimed DRI Foundation Day by Mayor Carol Goodman of Las Vegas.
  • The DRI Foundation hit the news. You can hear more about Volunteer Day and the Mayor’s Proclamation via local media coverage:
  • We mobilized 22 Volunteers at Veterans Village in Las Vegas where we painted the outside railings of apartment units for United States Veterans.
  • We had 29 Volunteers at Three Square food bank where we packed 1,200 bags of fresh produce for the Meals on Wheels program for homebound seniors and packed 720 pounds of fresh produce for families who are food insecure and hungry in the community.
