DRI Foundation: Volunteer and Double Your Support!

Your volunteer hours may double your support!

Volunteer grant programs are charitable giving programs set up by corporations. Companies provide monetary donations to eligible nonprofits such as DRI Foundation as a way to recognize employees who volunteer. These grants enable corporations to give back to their communities and support organizations that employees are already passionate about.Although volunteer grants are a relatively new form of corporate giving, they’re widely offered among Fortune 500 companies and are catching on at smaller firms. For instance:

  • Booz| Allen| Hamilton‘s Volunteer Service Grants program allows employees who volunteer 40 hours for a nonprofit to apply for two grants per year.If approved, Booz Allen will issue a check to that nonprofit in the individual’s name. On average, the firm donates $500,000 in VSGs each year!
  • Microsoft matches employee nonprofit donations and volunteering per year up to $12,000 per employee.
  • Kaiser Permanente employees who volunteer at least 25 hours in a calendar year are eligible to apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000.

If you’re already volunteering with DRI Foundation, please take a few minutes to check if your employer or your spouse’s employer offers grants for volunteering – grants that could equal hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars for victims impacted by disaster. Visit www.DoubletheDonation.com/DRIFoundation to find out.

If your company isn’t listed, please make sure to check with your human resources department as there are many additional companies out there who offer volunteer grant programs.

It’s an easy way for volunteers to provide an additional monetary contribution without having to take out their checkbooks!
